SwimRun is a race with a lot of activities and the participants compete in pairs in off road routes and swimming with a lot of changes from one sport to the other. Each pair must complete the whole race and finish together tied with a special rope given by the organizers.
The aim of the competition is for the participants to see the beauties of the island and enjoy a racing weekend in one of the most beautiful places of the world. The planning of the route is carefully done in order to include mountainous and coastal paths as well as cobbled streets in the picturesque town.

>"Miaoulia" is one of the most important celebrations taking place in Hydra in the end of June every year. The festivities are dedicated to the annual anniversary for the death of Admiral Antreas Miaoulis (1769-1835), as well as his military action, during the liberating battle of the Greeks (1821-1827). Antreas Miaoulis was the man who led his fleet to victory against the Ottomans.

"Kountouriotia" refers to the festivities organized by the Municipality of Hydra honoring the First President of the Greek Republic and hero of the Balkan War Admiral Pavlos Kountouriotis who was born in Hydra. They include a rich festive schedule full of tours at the Museums of the island, exhibitions, talks, book presentations and sport activities. On the last day of the festivities a doxology is held in the Cathedral “Koimisis Theotokou” and a memorial service along with wreath deposit at the statue and tomb of the Admiral of Hydra and First President of the Greek Republic, Pavlos Kountouriotis.
